H2 OH NO!

Wellllll, I was doing so great with the regular posting and then my fabulous little laptop had an unexpected encounter with this and this:

Argh. Tuxie isn't allowed on the table....but apparently while I was putting Wolfie to bed he took it upon himself to get a little drink of water. Unbeknownst to me, my laptop was sitting in a pool of water for, like 10 minutes. I was freaking. My photos. My writing. My silly folders of inspiration images. My music. Ahhhhhh!!!!! Everyone said "Just let it dry out," but this was MAJOR trauma to the lil lappy. Thankfully the genius IT peeps at my work came to the rescue. They salvaged my hard drive and got me set up with a new Macbook Pro. WHEW!!!! So two things:

1) Back up! Back up! Back yer stuff! up!

and once again,

2) I'm back.

The sickeningly sweet world of Liz Wolfe.

It's not often that I use the words "gross" and "adorable" in the same sentence, but hold tight pretty kitties, cuz I'mmabout to do just that. Let's talk about Liz Wolfe. I first encountered Liz's work when we were looking for photographers who worked with food in artful ways (for a new campaign we were doing). I stumbled upon her book and holy cannoli, I was totally blown away. Her work is bold, playful, gorgeous and ridiculous. And yeah. Sometimes kinda gross. Check it:

Canadian born Liz Wolfie grew up in Saskatchewan and studied photography at Ryerson University's School of Image Arts in Toronto. In 2009, she exhibited her work at the Architecture + Design Museum (Los Angeles), the Gladstone Hotel (Toronto) and Project Basho Gallery (Philadelphia). Liz currently lives in Toronto. She has a little four year old boy, which makes her even cooler in my book. Go mama!

Vintage Ephemera—With a Rebel Yell!

You know I'm always yackin' about how much cooler and cuter things were in the 60s and 70s. And sure, we all know about things like illustrations and furniture and clothing. But what about.....car brochures? Mmmm hmm. Bet ya didn't think about those, eh? Well lucky for you I've taken care of that. This is a brochure for the 1967 Rambler Rebel SST. And once again, my favorite decade doesn't disappoint!












The first two are my favorites....that top one could be an album cover, no?? But I'm also dying over the dude with the orange George Hamiltan holding a pitchfork in #3. Then again #4 with the glammy girls and those huge blocks in the field and the crazy "Cavorting Cabana" romp in #5....whooo hooo! And of course the robin's egg blue station wagon in the last one is just the most. To say the least.

And hey. Two posts in a row. That cleansing rain totally worked!

Re-Fresh.

Ooooooh I've been a bad lil blogger friends. But rather than dwell on how I've been busy and give you a boat load of excuses, I thought I'd do a little refresh....clean the slate, so to speak. And what is more cleansing than a nice little refreshing rain shower?
