Saint Seiya

Saint Seiya Anime Manga Series
Saint Seiya (Seinto Seiya?), also known as Knights of the Zodiac, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masami Kurumada, and later adapted to anime. The story follows five mystical warriors called the "Saints" (or "Knights"; the kanji is properly read as sei-tōshi "holy fighter" but the furigana has it pronounced "saint") who have adopted various constellations as their guardian symbols. The anime series won the Animage Anime Grand Prix prize in 1987, but was cancelled in 1989. In 2002, Toei produced Saint Seiya: Hades, which continued adapting the manga story arcs to animation that remained pending when the anime was canceled in 1989.

The original manga series of twenty-eight volumes have sold over 25 million copies in Japan as of 2007. When TV Asahi, a television network in Japan, conducted a nation-wide survey for the one hundred most popular animated television series, Saint Seiya anime came in twenty-fifth place. Animage also ranked the anime series within "Top 100" anime productions.

Saint Seiya Shiryu Manga Series

Saint Seiya Shiryu Manga Series
Dragon Shiryu ( Doragon no Shiryū?, shiryū meaning "violet dragon"), also known as Shiryu is a fictional character from the Saint Seiya universe created by Masami Kurumada as one of the protagonists of the media franchise, which originated in the manga written and illustrated by Kurumada, later adapted to anime, and subsequently inspiring soundtracks, OVAs, movies, video games, and other collectibles. He is considered the most matured of the five heroes, and thus the wisest. As the Bronze Saint of the Dragon constellation, Shiryu dons the emerald Dragon Bronze Cloth, a jewel among the Cloths due to its legendary defense properties.

As Masami Kurumada uses the revered Osamu Tezuka's Star System technique, (A stable cast of characters which play a different or similar role in the author's various works, sometimes with the same personality and sometimes with an entirely new one), he designed Shiryu's appearance very similar to Eidou Jun, a character in the successful Ring ni Kakero, a manga that Kurumada wrote and drew years before Saint Seiya, and that he considers his favorite creation. Also, Shiryu's appearance is almost identical to Azusa Ranmaru, from the work Kurumada authored before Saint Seiya, Otoko Zaka.

Shiryu is one of the protagonists of the series. He is one of the 88 saints of Athena, and one of the 52 Bronze Saints. He is protected by the Dragon Constelation so he wears the Dragon Cloth.

Aries Sion Saint Seiya Manga Anime
Aries Sion (Ariesu no Shion?) is a fictional character from the manga series, Saint Seiya, authored by Masami Kurumada, later adapted to anime. Sion is the original Grand Pope of Sanctuary, as well as one of the remaining survivors of the Holy War from the 1700s. He also served as the master of Aries Mu, who would eventually inherit the Gold Cloth of Aries from him.

He is a close friend of Libra Dohko, the only survivor of the last generation of saints together with Sion, and the master of Aries Mu. As a former Gold Saint, Sion has fully mastered the 7th sense, what gave him great power and the ability to move at the speed of light. Sion is among the most powerful of Athena's Gold Saints. Sion is naturally gifted with great psychic powers that allow him to have great control over telekinesis, telepathy and even teleportation. He is also able to make and heal holy armors using stardust, a role that was always reserved to those of Lemuria.

Sion can create a transparent, glass-like barrier between himself and an object called Crystal Wall ( kurisutaru wōru?) The wall is very durable, and has been shown to shield against everything from normal cosmos attacks to poison scent. The strength of the wall is dependent on Sion's cosmos level. The shield not only protects Sion but repel any form of attacks with the same power against his opponents. Saint Seiya Lost Canvas (non canon) also shown Sion using the Crystal Wall to creat a defensive barrier with the form of a cube.

His offensive technique is Stardust Revolution ( sutādasuto reboryūshon?), in which Sion burns his Cosmo energy to create a universe thus summoning stardust from stars and galaxies that throws innumerable blows instantly. It's well known that the attack has force of shooting stars and comets and obliterates an enemy with raw cosmos power.
